Who We Are

It all started in 2009…

When Centenary United Methodist Church created Centenary Community Ministries, Inc., a separate 501(c)(3), which expanded much of the Church's extensive community outreach. Back then, CCMI was simply a way to feed our friends in homelessness on a larger scale.

Today, CCMI has developed its own distinct organizational identity and has developed several more programs and has grown existing ones, building many partnerships along the way with faith communities and other nonprofit organizations across Macon. Collaboration and partnership is a vital way that CCMI works toward its mission of developing sustainable communities through the revitalization of people and place.

Among other things, CCMI's work in the community has enabled families facing eviction to remain in their homes and to prevent utilities from being disconnected; it has given men in active addiction living outdoors an opportunity to find recovery, and has offered our friends in homelessness a way to obtain sustainable transportation. All of this is guided by our core values that everyone in community should be treated justly and with dignity. We invite you to explore more about our ministries here.
